The Philosophy of China Slate Consortium
We do not believe in aggressive selling, but instead we allow the quality of the slate to sell itself. This attitude is in line with our prioritisation of existing customers. We will not seek new contracts that may jeopardise our pledge of continuous and consistent supply to our current clients. Another objective is to improve the economic position of locals involved. Hence our work aims to benefit the Chinese people, the stockists, the distributors and the final customers.
The Consortium's Operations
1. Identify valuable quarries with the use of our geological experts.
2. Test the material to ensure it meets Western standards.
3. Eliminate (the need for) trial holes to confirm the quantity and quality of the material.
4. Install infrastructure.
5. Establish a solid working relationship with the local government and villagers.
6.Install a management team, training and suitable machinery. Seek joint ventures or other partnerships.
The Environment and Future Development
We have the ability to benefit the quarry regions in several ways. For example, there is very little level ground in quarry areas. Such ground is required for development and agricultural reasons. By depositing waste into the valleys, level ground is formed to help meet the demands of the growing population in that area. The government have also specified that all land steeper than 25 degrees will be forested. Although this has clear benefits for the environment, it has also placed an increased strain on village farming.
In addition China Slate Consortium's members invest in local infrastructure, improving
transport links to and within the quarry areas.
Products
China Slate Consortium has sufficient funding to have acquired the
necessary in-depth knowledge of slates throughout the world. Already it
has successfully established close working relationships with stockists
and distributors in many parts of the world.
In addition to its own quarries, China Slate has built up
close allegiances in many other areas, assuring that customers receive
exactly what they require. This process is a continuous operation.
Since slate is not a commodity that everyone can trade in the
open market, it is bad practice to buy any slate without knowing the
source and test qualities. Therefore any products will be scrutinised by the staff of China Slate
Consortium
before shipment, ensuring conformance to a common standard. Our task is to prevent any buyers receiving products
not suitable for the purpose.
